Wally hommand was an English test player who was born on 19th June 1903, the period of his career was from 1903 to 1965. He was the best batsman in the world during 1930s and is still a legend, he only played 85 matches in his career but he owned the record of the highest runs in the test cricket till 1970. He used to the captain of England and scored more than 50,000 runs in his test career. When he was a child he had an old bat which belonged to a soldier, according to Hammond this was the bat which taught him how to play the dynamic strokes he used to give during the matches. He died of a heart attack in 1965.
